Common Problems
- I have good signal strength and link quality but my computer won't connect?
This problem can occur when your computer is still trying to use the last IP address that it was assigned and doesn't get a new one from the current site. If you are seeing all the information about your connection on your wifi card control panel, ip address, subnet mask...etc. Then you may need to force your machine to get a new IP address. You can do this on Windows 98 by going to the START menu, then RUN, and type in "winipcfg" and click OK. Click on Renew All. This forces your machine to request a new IP address from the router. On an XP machine, go to the START menu, Control Panel, Network and Internet connections. Select your network symbol and click on repair connection on the side menu. This will release and renew your IP address.
